The annual ANZIIF Insurance Industry Awards were held in Tāmaki Makaurau last night and Astron Life was awarded Life Insurance Company of the Year.
Members of Asteron Life’s senior leadership team accepted the award at the event and Asteron Life Executive General Manager Grant Willis says the industry recognition is testament to the efforts of Asteron Life whānau. Their commitment to providing accessible, affordable and sustainable insurance is shown through their dedication to their work.
“One of the things the Esteron Life leadership team is most proud of is how our people consistently put customers at the center of everything they do. “Our advisory relationship has grown stronger over the past year and this is evident in the feedback from clients and advisors.”
The life insurer was ranked number one for claims management and advisor relationships through independent ratings of advisors and achieved an average claims acceptance rate of 94% in the 2023 financial year.
The insurer is listening to customer concerns and constantly evaluating where they can improve the experiences of customers and advisors, says Willis.
Some of the highlights highlighted on the night were the insurers’ dedication to clarity and transparency, strategic growth initiatives – notably the upgrade of the underwriting rules engine – and the diverse range of customer and people-centric initiatives including the expansion of Asteran Life Connected. The Care Service enables easy and quick access to a range of health care options, including therapy, mental health, fitness and nutrition support.
Willis says the insurer would like to thank its partners, including independent financial advisors, who they work with to help connect customers with services that give them the flexibility to protect their financial well-being.
“This award acknowledges the fantastic team at Astron Life who are working with purpose to help New Zealanders protect what matters most.” Willis says.
Suncorp New Zealand’s general insurance go-to-market brand Vero Insurance New Zealand was also a finalist on the night for General Insurance Company of the Year and Claims Team of the Year.
